Zebra Dwarf Lionfish, Dendrochirus zebra
Zebra Dwarf Lionfish, Dendrochirus zebra
The Zebra Dwarf Lionfish is a fairly mild mannered venomous species. They are fine to be kept in reef systems, but will predate on small fish and invertebrates. They do not however eat corals. In fish only systems, they should not be kept with larger, more belligerent species as the Lionfish may be outcompeted and won't get their fair share of food. They can be very shy when they first enter an aquarium and keepers often use live feeder shrimp to encourage the new Lionfish to feed. Offering plenty of hiding places will help new Lionfish to settle in more easily.
