Yellow Coral Goby, Okinawa goby
The Yellow Coral Goby (Gobiodon okinawae) is not just a beautiful eye-catcher in every aquarium with deep colour, due to its small size (3 - 4 cm when mature) it also feels well in small marine water tanks from 60 litres. In addition the fish are easy to care and so they are also suitable for beginners.
Yellow Okinawae Gobies are relatively calm animals that mostly stay in or on corals. For this reason enough corals should be present in the tank. But be careful: The fish may nibble on SPS corals and could damage these.
The feeding of the Gobies is usually easy. They eat frozen and live foods (e.g. Mysis, Artemia, Lobster eggs, Zooplankton) and also granular foods and flakes.
Although Gobiodon okinawae are generally peaceful there may be conflicts when they are kept in groups, especially in small tanks. For this reason it’s recommended to keep them single or as pair.
