Orange Lip Conch, Strombus luhanus

The Strawberry Sand Conch is is a larger snail that is a good addition to the cleaning crew. In addition to devouring detritus, it also feeds on unwelcome guests such as bristle worms and cyano bacteria. Although it superficially resembles the cone snails, it is not directly related to them and also not poisonous, but entirely harmless.

The Strawberry Conch has excellent sand sifting abilities to clean and aerate the substrate while consuming detritus, they have a voracious algae eaters.

Like other invertebrates, the Strawberry Sand Conch is sensitive to high levels of nitrate and will not tolerate copper-based medications.
