Dogface Puffer - Hush Puppy, Arothron nigropunctatus

This large pufferfish species can make excellent pets. They can become very tame, and highly intelligent (about the same as a cat or puppy), and can recognise different people and react differently to them. However, they do grow extremely large, and may do so very quickly.

Safe with leather corals, may bother other corals. Will eat most mobile inverts, and may eat small to medium sized fish. May move rocks around, and may damage corals, decor, and equipment. Although generally docile, the large powerful jaws can inflict a nasty wound on the unwary aquarist. Care must be taken when handling this species.
