Adult Blueface Angelfish are also known as the Yellowface or Yellowmask Angelfish. Like many members of the Pomacanthus genus, adults and juveniles have different colour morphs.

Juvenile Blueface Angels feature attractive dark bodies, that highlight their vibrant white and blue stripes. As the fish gets older, their body colour changes from light to dark and the stripes fade away.

Adult Blueface Angelfish are amazing. Dark Centre Scales cover their brilliant yellow bodies. As the name suggested, they have a sapphire blue mask over their yellow face. Their fins, which sport a vivid blue fringe, are either bright yellow or yellow and brown. The dorsal fin has a large blue eyespot towards the rear.

The Adult Blueface Angels’ geographic range is in the Indo – Pacific Ocean. Their natural location is from the Maldives to Vanuatu. Their northern limit is the Yaeyama Islands, and their southern limit is Palau and Krosae in Micronesia.

In nature, Blueface Angels graze on sessile invertebrates and macroalgae. This makes them unsuitable for marine aquariums with coral, as they do tend to nip. However, it may be possible to keep some carefully selected coral species in the same tank as the Adult Blueface Angelfish. We highly recommend consulting a member of staff on the issue.

Adult Blueface Angels are omnivores and do best when fed a varied diet. Over time they will accept high-quality pellet or flake.
