Blackburn's Butterflyfish, Chaetodon blackburni

This butterfly species occurs on shallow limestone and rocky reefs. It is found in calm bays, sometimes over silt covered rubble substrate. It has been suggested that it feeds on small crustacea and worms although they may also feed on coral polyps, they are found in singly or in pairs Juveniles of the species the diagonal blue bands on the body are not as pronounced as those of the adults.
